AFTER the AEW’s Double of Nothing show this past weekend, all eyes were on Raw last night.
Could WWE fire back with an earth-shattering shot in this all-new wrestling war?
Or would it be business as usual?
Here are five big talking points from Raw:
SAMI GETS ELECTRIC
Sami Zayn took a seat for WWE’s new “electric chair” promo segment. Sat in an actual electric chair in the ring, Sami answered questions from fans in the crowd.
The concept is a dud. If WWE thinks this is edgy enough to match the creative success of AEW’s Double of Nothing show, it needs to think again.
But Sami was highly entertaining as always. He insulted fans and claimed to be a “tender lover”. He even dropped a bomb by mentioning the competition.
Sami said: “You could ask me anything. You could have asked me about AEW!”
When asked why he hasn’t won the Universal title, he boasted that he could win it anytime he wanted – so Seth Rollins came out to face Zayn in a one-on-one match.
Sami got the upper hand after Rollins tweaked his knee on a suicide dive. Sami worked over the knee and locked in a figure-4.
But Rollins overcame the injury to land a one-legged frog splash and hit two curb stomps for the win.
BYE BYE BROCK?
Earlier on the show, Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins came to the ring and demanding to know which of them Brock Lesnar will challenge with his Money in the Bank contract.
Brock came out dancing to remix of their themes tunes, once again holding the briefcase like a boom box.
Seth stormed off but Kofi stood his ground – until Dolph Ziggler attacked him from behind and hit the Zig-Zag on the steel ramp.
Xavier Woods dashed out to help Kofi but took a beating himself from Ziggler, who tried to wrap a chair around Woods’ head.
Kofi eventually chased off Dolph, which led to another terribly acted promo from Ziggler claiming he’s going to beat Kofi at Super ShowDown for the WWE title (spoiler: he’s isn’t).
Afterwards, Brock and Paul Heyman returned to the ring for yet another confrontation with Seth Rollins.
Rollins tried to goad Brock into cashing-in by calling him a joke and a coward, so Paul Heyman started reading details from the MITB contract – at which point Brock was shocked to hear that he has an entire year to cash-in.
He slapped Heyman with the contract for not telling him that detail sooner and walked off, presumably to put his feet up at home until he feels like cashing-in – not unlike his attitude towards defending the Universal Championship last year.
Is this the last we’ll see of Brock Lesnar for a while?
CORBIN TO FACE ROLLINS
Baron Corbin continued his momentum as Raw’s most deathly boring heel last night.
First he laid out AJ Styles with an attack in the medical room after Styles announced he has sustained a back injury.
Then Bazza went on to face Miz, Braun Strowman, and Bobby Lashley in a fatal 4-way to determine the number one contender to Seth Rollins’ title at Super ShowDown.
Strowman pulled out some big moves, including a powerbomb on all three men from the top rope and a huge dropkick on both Corbin and Lashley.
Strowman and Lashley then fought through the crowd, which allowed Corbin to nail Miz with the End of Days and earn his title shot in Saudi Arabia.
Poor Miz. His babyface run has quickly turned into a string of heat-killing defeats.
And Baron Corbin as number one contender? Bazza personifies just how dull and uninspiring the Raw product can be at the moment.
SHANE GETS PERSONAL
In the latest chapter of his vendetta against Roman Reigns, Shane McMahon took on Roman’s cousin Lance Anoa’i.
Drew McIntyre assaulted Lance and ringside and Shane submitted the Samoan with a choke. The heels continued to beat down Lance after the match.
Roman came charging to the ring and laid out Drew with a Superman punch (Drew has taken so many of those by now you’d think he’d see them coming a mile off like everyone else does).
Shane tried to escape but Roman leapt off the ring steps and hit Shane with another Superman punch.
Let’s hope Roman punches Shane at Super ShowDown to end this feud for good.

RICOCHET 1 CESARO 1
After Cesaro defeated Ricochet last week, the pair fought again in another excellent matchup.
At one point Cesaro hammered Ricochet with a charging uppercut that took the “One and Only” completely off his feet.
There was an inventive finish when Ricochet clamped his legs on the back of Cesaro’s shoulders and pulled himself up into a hurricanrana position. He then flipped Cesaro over into an inverted piledriver to score the win.
That makes it an even 1-1 between these superstars. With the quality of matches these rivals are churning out, we’d happily see this go to a best of seven series.
