SETH ROLLINS escaped WWE’s Super ShowDown with his Universal title despite Brock Lesnar’s attempted cash-in attempt.
With the threat of Lesnar’s Money in the Bank contract looming large, the champion Rollins was first out to kick-off the main show in Jeddah.
Battered and bruised from The Beast’s attack on Raw, The Architect had to defend his Universal title against Baron Corbin.
The No.1 contender quickly took advantage of the champ’s woes, inflicting some heavy punishment throughout the early exchanges.
Despite a rally, Corbin continued to punish Rollins until he allowed frustration to take over.
After a near-count he brought a steel chair into the ring as he lambasted the referee for a slow count.
But the official refused to take the verbal onslaught, instead giving it back as Rollins took advantage of the pre-occupied Corbin to roll him up for the pin.
The loser did not take defeat well, flattening Rollins after the bell with an End of days, sparking the arrival of Lesnar from the back with a steel chair.
Lesnar was about to hit Rollins with the chair until the champ struck a low-blow on The Beast after he was distracted by advocate Paul Heyman’s trip while entering the ring.
